Chloe Tings time spent in Antarctica is well-known, and it seems her time there was quite unique.
In her blog, Ting talks about spending months out of the year as part of a scientific expedition to the southernmost continent, and what it was like to spend time out of your comfort zone.
While she had the luxury of taking part in a scientific mission, Tings experience out on the ice was quite different.
“In Antarctica, I was able to get to experience a lot of the things that I saw and experienced there, such as the cold and the lack of food and drink, the lack and lack of sunlight and the harsh conditions,” Ting writes.
“I also got to witness and experience the beauty and beauty of the continent, which is what I like to think of as the beauty of our world.”
Ting is also a member of the team that is now returning to Antarctica, but her time on the continent was a lot different than the other expedition participants.
Ting had been in Antarctica for a few years before that time, but only went out on expedition in 2014.
She was originally invited to participate in a year-long expedition to Antarctica in 2014, but was not able to do it.
“When I was invited to the Antarctic expedition, it was a bit different,” she said.
“It was in the middle of the night and I couldn’t sleep.
But, it turned out that I was actually able to take part, because my team and I had already gone there, so we had the equipment.
And so, we went out there and we went there for the first time.”
She says that her experience out in Antarctica has been “quite special” and that she is “excited” to return to Antarctica and work on some of the research that is being done there.
The Antarctic Peninsula is known for being very inhospitable to humans and its cold winters are notorious for causing people to develop frostbite.
“Because it’s so cold, there’s a lot that happens there,” she explains.
“A lot of things are going on in the climate, so you have all these different kinds of organisms in the air that cause you problems in the winter.
So, you’re exposed to those things in the cold, which then makes you feel cold.
But the most important thing, and this is really important, is that you don’t die of hypothermia because of the lack or lack of oxygen.”
Tings is not the only one who is excited about her return.
“We’re really excited that there’s so much interest and interest in our expedition to Antarctic Peninsula,” she says.
“That’s one of the reasons why we’re doing this.
And the other reason is because we’re going to have this opportunity to really understand the conditions and the things happening in the continent.
And that’s really exciting, and that’s also why I think we’re very excited to be able to return.”
Thing is, Tingle’s time on Antarctica has actually been rather busy.
The two of them spent about 18 months on the Antarctic Peninsula in 2014 and 2015.
“At the time we were on the expedition, we had a lot more experience, and we also had our own expedition that we were also going to be working on,” she explained.
“And so, it became really easy to go out and do our research, but also to do a lot in the field.”
Tingle and her team returned to the Peninsula for the second time in 2017, and again in 2018.
“Then, the next year we were back to Antarctica again,” she continued.
“So, it’s been a pretty exciting year for us.
We have a lot to do, and there’s lots of different research that we’re really passionate about, and the expedition is really exciting.
And we’re excited to have been able to go on it.”
What’s the best part about Antarctica?
Ting has been working on the project for almost a decade, and she says that the time spent there has really given her an understanding of the climate and how the Antarctic works.
“Being in Antarctica, we’re just constantly seeing and hearing about the different kinds and kinds of life that we see, and also the different types and kinds and kind of things that are happening on the island,” she told Polygon.
“The fact that we actually see them and we can actually experience them is just really cool.”
While Antarctica has always been a challenge for Ting, she says she has been able and willing to take risks.
“If something goes wrong and it gets you killed, then I just say, ‘Oh, you know, I’m going to go kill myself, or I’m not going to do that, so why not?'”
Ting also credits her team and her own team with being able to accomplish what they have done.
“There’s a team that’s just amazing, and I’ve got the team I’ve had for over 10 years
